A second OVI in Ohio is generally classified as a first-degree misdemeanor.

• Jail: 10 days – 6 months; mandatory min 10 days (20 if high test); or 5 days jail + 18 days house arrest with monitoring
• Fine: $525–$1,625 (plus costs/reinstatement)
• License suspension: 1 year – 7 years; hardship: privileges after 45-day hard suspension, interlock + restricted plates required
• Ignition interlock: Required
• 90-day vehicle immobilization (offender's vehicle); mandatory alcohol/drug assessment.

Lookback period: 10 years. 10-year lookback for repeat-offense enhancement; 20-year window for the refusal-with-prior enhanced charge; felony at 4th in 10 years or 6th in 20.
