These Terms are a contract between you and MJ Strategies LLC covering your use of DUI Laws by State at duilawsbystate.com (the “Site”). By using the Site you agree to them. If you don’t agree, please don’t use it.

What this Site is — and is not

DUI Laws by State publishes general legal information: summaries of state DUI and DWI statutes, with citations to the underlying law and the date each page was last reviewed.

We are not a law firm and we do not give legal advice. Nothing on this Site is advice about your situation, no attorney-client relationship is created by reading it or by contacting us, and we are not a lawyer referral service. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any government agency, court, or licensing body.

Do not send us confidential case information. Messages to us are not privileged. If you are facing a charge, talk to an attorney licensed in the state where the case is pending.

Accuracy, and its limits

We take accuracy seriously — every figure we publish is checked against the primary statute text, and states we haven’t finished verifying are not published at all. Our editorial policy explains exactly how that works.

Even so: legislatures amend these statutes every session, courts reinterpret them, and summaries necessarily leave things out. Penalties also depend on facts a summary can’t know — your record, your BAC, the county, the prosecutor. Always confirm against the current statute or with a licensed attorney before relying on anything here. The last-reviewed date on each page tells you how fresh it is.

Eligibility

The Site is intended for adults. You must be 18 or older to use it.

Advertising and sponsored links

The Site is supported by advertising, including attorney advertising, and by affiliate links. We are paid when readers click or make contact through those links. Advertisers are not our partners, agents, or employees; an advertisement is not a recommendation, an endorsement, or a statement that the advertiser is qualified for your matter, and we do not control or vouch for the services they provide. Connecting you with an attorney

If you ask us to connect you with a lawyer, we forward the contact details you give us to a DUI attorney or attorney advertising network licensed in your state, and we are paid for doing so. That is advertising, not a referral: we do not choose an attorney for you, evaluate anyone’s qualifications, or vouch for the outcome, and we are not a lawyer referral service.

Submitting the form does not create an attorney-client relationship with anyone, and nothing you send us is confidential or privileged. Whether an attorney contacts you, takes your matter, or charges you is entirely between you and them. Check any attorney’s standing with your state bar before you hire them.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Scrape, bulk-copy, resell, or republish our compiled penalty data, tables, or written summaries, in whole or in substantial part.
• Use automated tools in a way that burdens or disrupts the Site.
• Interfere with the Site or try to gain unauthorized access to it.
• Use the Site unlawfully, or to infringe anyone’s rights.

Intellectual property

Statutes are public law and belong to no one. Our compilation of them — the research, selection, structure, wording, tables, and design of this Site — is owned by MJ Strategies LLC and protected by copyright. You may read, print, and link to our pages for your own use. Republishing them is not permitted.

Third-party links

We link to legislature and agency websites so you can read the source yourself, and to advertisers. We are not responsible for the content, accuracy, or practices of any site we link to.

Disclaimer of warranties

The Site is provided “as is,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including any implied warranty of accuracy, merchantability, or fitness for a particular purpose. We do not warrant that the Site is error-free, complete, or current.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, MJ Strategies LLC will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for any loss arising out of your reliance on information published here or on any dealing with an advertiser. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Site will not exceed $100.

Indemnification

You agree to hold MJ Strategies LLC harmless from claims and expenses arising out of your misuse of the Site or your breach of these Terms.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules, and the exclusive venue for disputes is the state or federal courts located there.

Changes

We may update these Terms; material changes will be reflected in the effective date above. Continuing to use the Site means you accept the updated Terms.
